How do I find new Forum posts?

To find new Society for Sacred Sexuality postings, visit our What's New Forum -- it lists all lessons posted by date, starting with the most recent.

There are several ways to find new posts by SSS members:

If you are logged in: Click 'View posts since last visit', on the right side of the Forum HomePage, just above the forum list.

Or look for the 'New Post' icon to the left of each forum (on the Forum HomePage) -- a colored icon means there is a new post in that forum. Click the icon to visit the forum; similar icons show whether topic are new or there are new posts in each topic. (Icon meanings are explained at the bottom of the page, or hold your cursor over the icon to see what it means.) Click on an icon indicating a new post -- the most recent post is at the end of the topic.
(Note that the icons do not show new posts for main SSS lessons -- this is because starter posts already exist for each lesson, so they are not identified as 'new' when full content is added. To find new SSS lessons, visit the What's New Forum as explained above.)

If you are not logged in: Click 'View latest posts', on the right side of the Forum HomePage, just above the forum list.

Using the Search page: Under 'Search Options' on the Forum Search page, select either 1 day, 7 days, or 2 weeks, in the drop-down box next to 'Search previous'; then click 'Submit'. (You cannot do a general search for posts older than 2 weeks.)

How do I track Topics that interest me?

You can track Topics by adding them to your 'Favorites' list, or receiving an email whenever someone posts there. Both methods are explained in our QuikLearn Forum.

How do I add Topics to my Favorites list?

Go to the Topic that you want to add to your Favorites list. Scroll down to the end of the messages posted on the Topic page. Click the link that says 'Add to Favorites', just below the last message on the right-hand side.

Example Topic Page - note most Topic pages contain SSS lessons and/or user posts.

If you are using the drop-down menu on the Favorites page, select the Forum that contains the Topic you want to add to your Favorites. Then click on the Topic you want to add, and follow the instructions above.

How do I find posts by a particular user?

On the Search page, enter the username where it says 'Search for Author', then click 'Submit'.

Or, you can find the user in our Memberlist, click on the username, and then click 'Find all posts' by the user (on the right side; if there is no link, the user has not posted any messages).

I can't find what I want using Search!

First, try using our Alphabetical Topic Index. It is very complete and immediately directs you to the best post(s) for any particular topic.

Second, if you are using our Forum Search page to find something in the Sacred Sex Lessons, note that you must be logged in as a Paid Member when you search in order to see results for that Forum. The Sacred Sex Lesson Forum is for Paid SSS Members only, and will not show up in your search results unless you are logged in.

Purchase Membership & Sacred Sex Lessons Here

NOTE: The default sort method under Search Options lists the main SSS teachings first in your search results. This is typically the best way to learn about a given subject. You should change this setting only if you're looking for something specific, such as the most recent post that matches your search.

If you can't find what you want in our Learning Center, try our whole site search. It uses Google and other popular search engines to search our entire website, including our Art & Text Archive, Sexual Freedom section, and general Sex Information pages.

WebSite Issues
I see computer code in some of the messages!

This is most likely due to an incorrect setting in your Member Profile. Go to your Profile and select 'Yes' for the following three options:

~ Always allow BBCode
~ Always allow HTML
~ Always enable Smilies

If you still have display problems, see this FAQ.

The site doesn't look right (& other display issues)

[If you see computer code in some of the messages, see this FAQ.]

This site is designed to be viewed on the latest version of major browsers (it has been tested on Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Opera, and Firefox). Your browser must support CSS (Cascading Style Sheets -- most current browsers support this web design standard).

If you are not using the latest version of your preferred browser, graphics & layout of the site may not display correctly (content can still be viewed). We suggest that you visit your browser's homepage and upgrade. This will improve the display of other websites on the Internet for you as well.

Your browser must also support javascript (standard on most new browsers), and it must be enabled in your browser preferences (typically the default setting - it should be okay unless you have changed it); otherwise certain website functions may fail (you still should be able to view all site content).

If you have questions about your display, please email the Webmaster; include your browser manufacturer and version number.

The color doesn't look right

This site is designed for viewing on PC's with any Microsoft Windows operating system. If your colors aren't good, try the following:

1) adjust the color hue on your monitor (refer to your owner's manual if you need help).

2) check your settings for the Display icon in your Control Panel; be sure your monitor is set to display the maximum number of colors possible (highest color quality). Refer to Microsoft Windows instructions for setting your Display Control Panel. Older monitors may not display as many colors as new monitors -- if your settings show a maximum of 16-bit or 'thousands of colors' (as opposed to 32-bit or 'millions of colors'), your display of this website (and others) will not be as rich. Consider buying a new monitor.

If you have a Macintosh computer, colors on this website (and others) may appear off. This is due to a difference in the way Apple computers render colors. In the future, we hope to post a color-adjusted Mac version of our site; your feedback helps -- tell us how significant the color issues are on your computer, and any other relevant information. For display color issues, email the Webmaster.

The picture doesn't fit on my screen

Our site is designed to fit horizontally on your screen at all screen resolutions. This is done using javascript code that detects your monitor's resolution and automatically adjusts the display. You must have javascript enabled for this to work (see this FAQ). If you have javascript enabled and the site still does not fit horizontally on your screen, email the Webmaster; include your monitor's screen resolution (found in the Display Control Panel).

I'm having trouble navigating the site

If you simply can't find your way around, view our Navigation Tips. For a list of links to basic site features, see the FAQ's at the top of the page, starting here.

If the site menus don't work on your computer, see the next FAQ, below.

The site menus don't work!

If the site menus don't work, your browser probably doesn't support CSS and/or javascript, or you have them disabled (see this FAQ). If this is the case, the left-hand menu on main site pages (e.g. Welcome page) should still work. For other pages, try these work-arounds:

1) Learning Center/Forum: click on 'Site Menu' at the top of any page to go to the homepage; use the links there to navigate the site. (There is no work-around for the site menu at the bottom of the Forum pages -- it will not work without javascript.)

2) On other pages, click 'Site Menu' to go to either the homepage or welcome page, and navigate from there. Or use the footer links to get to the homepage.

If CSS/javascript is not the reason that your site menus don't work, email the Webmaster; indicate which menu(s), your basic system configuration, and any other relevant information.

Links don't work! I see computer code instead.

Check your Profile settings. Make sure you've selected 'Yes' for 'Always allow HTML'.

If you still have problems, email the Webmaster.

Link problems -- the page I was sent to isn't there!

We try our best to update all links when we move pages on the site, and to remove links when pages are deleted. If you've found a broken link, let us know. Email the Webmaster; include the URL of the page that is missing, and also that of the page that has the bad link.

The page I was at earlier (or last time I was on the site) isn't there!

Several of our pages introduce site features to new users. Since return users do not need to view this introductory material again, we have designed our site to skip over these pages on subsequent visits. This lets you directly visit the pages you're looking for, improving your online experience. If you wish to review an introductory page that you saw on an earlier visit, either clear the 'cookies' from your browser (typically via Options or Preferences on the Tools menu), or use one of the special links below:

Log-in and Registration
I lost my password!

Even though your password cannot be retrieved (for your security), you can get a new one. To do this, go to the log-in page and click 'Forgot Password'. Follow the instructions to receive and activate your new password.

If you want, you can then log in and change your password (via the 'My Profile' link atop every forum page) to something easier to remember.

I can't log in!

You must first Register before you can log in.

If you've already registered but still can't log in, see the next FAQ.

I registered but cannot log in!

If you have registered but still can't log in, check the following:

1) First make sure you have activated your account. When you registered, you should have received an activation email sent to the address you registered under. Follow the instructions. If you did not receive the email, see this FAQ.

2) If your account is active and you still can't log in, be sure you are entering the correct username and password. If you get an 'incorrect username or invalid password' message, click 'I forgot my password' on the log-in page and follow the prompts.

3) If you just logged out and are trying to log in again, you may have to close your browser window and open a new one. This clears the cookie our site uses to track your log-in status.

4) Inability to log in may also occur if you have two usernames and are trying to log in under the second name right after logging out of the first name. If this happens, close your browser window, re-open your browser, then return to the site and log in again.

5) If you change the email address listed in your Profile, your account is automatically de-activated and an activation email is sent to your new address. You must re-activate your account before you can log in; follow the instructions in the email. If you did not receive the email, see this FAQ.

6) Are you banned? A message will display if you are; contact the Board Moderator to find out why.

7) If you registered in the past and used to be able to log in, but now you can't, see the next FAQ.

If you still can't log in, contact the Board Moderator.

I registered in the past but can't log in anymore!

The most likely reason for this is you entered an incorrect username or password (check the email you were sent when you first registered). Or the administrator may have deleted your account (click the Memberlist link atop any page and check for your username). Sometimes the administrator will remove inactive users to reduce the size of the database. Try registering again and get involved in discussions.

If your account is active and you still can't log in, see items #3 - 5 in the FAQ above.

I registered but didn't get an activation email!

This may be because you misspelled your email address when you registered, your spam filter blocked the email, or due to a mail server error beyond our control.

First check your junk email folder; if the email is there, follow the instructions in it to activate your account. Also, to avoid future problems, edit your spam filter settings to allow mail from www.sss-now.org

If you still can't find the email, contact the Board Administrator using the email address you registered under and we will activate your account manually. Be sure to include your username (password not needed).

Why do I need to register?

You may not have to -- some areas of the site are accessible to non-registered guests. However, registration gives you access to additional features not available to guest users such as posting privileges, private messaging, emailing fellow users, usergroup sign-up, etc. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes; we recommend you do so.

How do I prevent my username from appearing in the 'Who is Online' listing at the bottom of the Forum Homepage?

Your username only appears in the list if you are logged in. If you are logged in but don't want your username to appear, do the following:

In your Profile, select the option 'Hide your online status'. This shows your online status only to Board Administrators and yourself. You will be counted as a hidden user.

Should I select 'Log me in automatically each visit'?

The auto-login box places a cookie on your computer that the website reads the next time you visit from that computer. The site then uses that cookie to log you in automatically. This is convenient if you use a private home computer; you will be logged in whenever you visit the site (provided you don't click 'Log out' or delete the cookies from your computer). However:

If you use a shared computer (e.g. school, library, internet cafe, etc.), we recommend that you do not check the Automatic Log-in box. If you do, be sure to click 'log out' at the top of the forum page when you're done with your session.

Otherwise, someone may be able to access the site under your name. Logging out of the site removes all cookies from your computer, and protects your privacy.

I select 'Log me in automatically each visit', but it doesn't work!

This feature only works if you don't click 'log out' when you leave. When you're done with your visit, simply close your browser or go to another site; don't log out. (It also doesn't work if you've deleted the cookies from your computer, but this should correct itself once you log back in and create new cookies.)

Why do I get logged off automatically?

If you do not check the 'Log me in automatically' box when you log in, you will only stay logged in for a pre-set time. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in throughout your visit, check the box during log-in (first read 'Should I select Automatic Log-in?' above).

I can't log out!

Click 'log out' at the top of any forum page, next to your username. If your username disappears and the text changes to 'log in', you have successfully logged out. If 'log out [username]' still shows, try clicking it again. If it continues to show after multiple clicks, leave the SSS site, and clear the cookies from your browser (on Internet Explorer menu, go to Tools, then Internet Options, and click 'delete cookies'). You should then be logged out of the Society for Sacred Sexuality. If you want to confirm, return to the SSS Learning Center/Forum and check that 'log in' appears as explained earlier.

Paid Membership Account
What is a Paid Member?

A Paid Member is someone who has purchased SSS Membership for the special Member benefits below (next FAQ). Paid Membership is available as a 1-time purchase (expires after 1 year), and by subscription (continues until you cancel).

What are the benefits of Paid Membership?

Paid Membership gives access to the Sacred Sex Lesson Forum, where you can learn sacred sex, ask questions about your practice, share experiences, and learn from other members — all in the privacy of your own home.

Paid Membership also gives discounts on SSS counseling services, Teacher Training, store items, playshops, retreats, and other offerings (as available).

The account page is here.

How do I upgrade, change, or cancel my Paid Membership?

You can check your account status here.

User Preferences (Profile Settings)
How do I change my Profile settings?

Click on 'My Profile' at the top of any forum page. You can change all your settings there (you must be a registered user, and logged in).

Go to Profile now.

The times are not correct!

Click on 'My Profile' at the top of the page. Change your Profile setting to the timezone that matches your area, e.g. London, Paris, New York, Sydney, etc. (Only registered users have a Profile with personalized settings. Until you register and log in, the default time-zone will display.)

(Note that the time does not automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time. This is because not all countries in a given timezone use DST. To adjust for DST, you must change the timezone setting in your Profile at the start & end of each period. Displayed times will then be accurate, though the timezone notation at the bottom of each page will be off by one timezone during DST.)

I changed the timezone and the time is still wrong!

If you are sure you have set the timezone correctly and the time is still different, the most likely answer is Daylight Savings Time (or Summer Time as it is known in the UK and other places). The board is not designed to handle the changeovers between standard and daylight time so during summer months the time may be an hour different from the real local time. If you want, you can adjust the timezone by one hour in your Profile during summer months. Click here for the FAQ on changing your Profile settings.

My language is not in the list!

Unfortunately, translation modules for this Forum software only translate some parts of the site; they do not translate the posted messages. Since this is the main site content, users will still need English. We apologize for this inconvenience and truly want our site to be international. We are looking for ways to do this. If you have suggestions, or wish to translate the site into your language, contact the Board Administrator.

How do I show an image/avatar below my username?

There may be two images below a username when viewing posts. The first is an image associated with your rank; generally these are stars or blocks (or a text notation, e.g. 'new user') indicating how many posts you have made or your status on the forums. Contact the Board Administrator if you wish to be acknowledged for some special status. Below this may be a larger image called an avatar; registered users may select an avatar via the 'My Profile' link atop any page.

How do I change my rank?

In general you cannot change the wording of any rank (ranks appear below your username in Topics). These ranks indicate the number of posts you have made or other special status. For example, moderators and administrators may have a special rank. Please do not abuse the board by posting unnecessarily just to increase your rank -- the moderator or administrator may lower your post count manually or ban you.

Posting Messages
How do I ask questions/post messages in a Forum?

Click 'Post Reply' on the Topic page. In most cases you must register and log in before you can post a message. Generally, users cannot post new Topics; you can only reply to existing ones. Most Sacred Sex Topics are already started -- post your message under the appropriate Topic. (This makes it easy to learn all about a Topic in one place.) You can reply to a Topic as many times as you wish. If you have a question about a Topic, first use the Search page to see if an answer already exists. If not, find the most relevant Topic and post your reply question there. When checking back later for an answer, you may have to scroll down from your question, if other users posted messages before a moderator/administrator had time to respond.

Your posting privileges are listed at the bottom right of Forum and Topic pages (e.g. You can post new Topics, You can vote in polls, etc.).

Where can I post a message about any topic I want?

The existing Forum Topics cover most sacred sex topics. We recommend that you search for the appropriate forum and post a reply there. This keeps all information about a topic in one place, making it easier for everyone to find and learn about it.

Read the Find-A-Topic tips to help find the appropriate forum for your post.

If you can't find an appropriate forum, you can post messages about any sacred sex related topic in the General Open Forum.

How do I edit or delete a post?

Unless you are the Board Administrator or Forum Moderator you can only edit or delete your own posts. You can edit a post (sometimes for only a limited time after it was made) by clicking the edit button for that post. If someone has already replied to the post, a small message indicating the number of times you edited your post will display below it. This only appears if you edit your post after someone has replied. It will also not appear if moderators or administrators edit the post (they should leave a message saying what they altered and why). Please note that general users cannot delete a post once someone has replied; only moderators & administrators may do so.

How do I add a signature to my post?

To add a signature to a post you must first create one via the 'My Profile' link atop any page. Once created you can check the Add Signature box on the posting form to add your signature. You can also add a signature by default to all your posts by selecting the appropriate option in your Profile. You can still prevent a signature being added to individual posts by un-checking the add signature box on the posting form.

How do I create a poll?

Regular users cannot create polls in most Forums. If you can, you'll see an Add Poll form below the posting box when composing a new message. If you don't see this then you probably don't have permission to create polls. You should enter a title for the poll and then at least two options -- to set an option type in the poll question and click the Add option button. You can also set a time limit for the poll, 0 being an infinite amount. There will be a limit to the number of options you can list, which is set by the Board Administrator.

How do I edit or delete a poll?

As with posts, polls can only be edited by the original poster, a moderator, or board administrator. To edit a poll, click the first post in the Topic, which always has the poll associated with it. If no one has cast a vote then users can delete the poll or edit any poll option. However, if people have already placed votes only moderators or administrators can edit or delete it; this prevents people rigging results by changing options mid-way through a poll.

How do I add smileys (emoticons) to my post?

To add a smiley to your post, simply click in your message where you want the smiley to be, then click on the desired smiley at the left (or in the pop-up window if you've clicked 'View More Emoticons'). (Note that the smiley will appear as keyboard characters in your message until you click 'Submit'; then it is displayed as an emoticon.)

Why can't I access a Forum?

Some Forums may be limited to certain users or groups. To view, read, post, etc. you may need to join the group or get special permission from the Board Moderator. Check the Usergroups link atop any page for an appropriate group to join. Or contact the Board Moderator.

Why can't I reply to a Topic?

Check to see if the Forum or Topic is locked (you'll see a 'lock' icon to the left of the Topic in the Forum list, and/or a 'Locked' button will replace the PostReply button when viewing the Topic). Topics may be locked either because it is for reference only (not open for discussion), or the administrators have determined that the Topic discussion is complete, and have closed it to further dialog. If you think a topic is inappropriately locked, contact the Board Administrator.

Note: you must be registered & logged in to reply to messages.

Why can't I post new Topics?

In most Forums, registered users can only reply to Topics, not post new Topics. This keeps all posts about a Topic in one place, making it easier for you to learn everything about that Topic without hunting around the site. If you have a question about a Topic, see the FAQ titled 'How do I ask questions/post messages in a Forum?'.

Why can't I vote in polls?

Only registered users can vote in polls to prevent multiple voting. If you have registered and logged in, and still cannot vote then the poll may be restricted. Check the User Permissions list at the bottom right of the Topic page (i.e. 'You can/can't vote in polls').

I posted a message, but no one responded!

It may take 24-48 hours for the site owner, a moderator, or administrator to respond, occasionally longer if they are busy with other work. You may also have to scroll down from your question past questions posted by others before the administrator had time to respond. If several days pass without an answer you can re-post the question to bump it back to the top of the list.

I posted a message, but can't find it!

Try using the Search page. Enter your username in the 'Search for Author' box. Your most recent post will be listed first (unless you change the 'Sort by' option).

You can also click 'View your posts' to the top right of the Forum Homepage. However, this shows the entire Topic you posted to, including posts by others. If your post was recent, it should be one of the last ones on the page — scroll down to find it. Or, enter your username in the 'Search this Page' box at the top of the discussion. (Note that many Topics have multiple pages; if you posted recently, try searching the last one or two pages.)

I posted a message, but now it's gone!

If you haven't checked for an answer to your question in a long time (typically 30 days), the administrator may have deleted your original post. However, the answer (with your question embedded in the post) will remain. (This keeps questions & answers together, making it easy for everyone to learn). Try scrolling through the Topic looking for posts shortly after the date you posted your question (posts are displayed in sequence by date, with oldest first), or use the filter options at the bottom of the list to show only posts you want. You can also try searching for keywords from your question via the Search link atop any page; search in the appropriate Forum and time-frame to narrow results.

Special Topic Types
What are Announcements?

Announcements contain important information that you should read when you first visit the Forum. They often have tips to help you find what you want in the Forum faster. Announcements appear at the top of every page in the Forum to which they are posted.

What are 'Special' Topics?

Special Topics are priority messages displayed above the general topics, and give helpful information about the Forum. They appear below any announcements in the Forum view (on the first page only). They give additional helpful information about the Forum.

What are Locked Topics?

Topics are locked by either the Forum Moderator or Board Administrator. You cannot reply to locked Topics and any poll contained inside is automatically ended. Topics are generally locked when an administrator decides a Topic discussion is complete.

Printing Messages
How do I print messages?

The best way to print messages is via the EZ-Print page: click the printer icon at the top of the message you want to print.

How do I find the EZ-Print page?

Click the printer icon at the top of the message you want to print.

How do I select messages to print?

Each message on the EZ-Print page has a 'POST' number (to the left of its title). Use the two boxes at the top right of the page to select which messages to print: Enter the POST # of the first message you want to print in the first box. Enter the POST # of the last message you want to print in the second box. Hit 'Show' to display the selected messages. Click 'Print' (on left side of screen) to print the selected messages.

For example, to print messages 2 through 5, enter 2 in the first box and 5 in the second box.

TIP: To help find which messages to print, use the 'Goto page' numbers under the Print button (on the EZ-Print page); scroll through the numbers (or click 'Next') to display each message. Clicking 'Show All' displays all messages on one page; scroll down to view each message. When you've decided which messages to print, enter the numbers in the boxes as explained above.

Option: You can also select a range of messages by entering a negative number in the second box. For example, you can get the same result as above by entering 2 in the first box and -4 in the second box. This prints 4 messages starting at #2 (2, 3, 4, & 5).

Note: the default is set to print the first message only; this is typically the Society for Sacred Sexuality teaching for that Topic. For more on printing just one message (for example, if you just want to print one user's reply comment), see the next FAQ.

How do I print just one message?

On the EZ-Print page, find the message you want to print by using the 'Goto page' numbers under the Print button on the left side of the page (scroll through the numbers, or click 'Next', to display each message). When your desired message is displayed, click 'Print'.

Alternatively, if you know the POST # of the message you want to print, enter that number in BOTH boxes at the top right of the page. For example, if you want to print POST 5, enter '5' in both boxes. Click 'Show' to display your selected message. After confirming your selection, click 'Print'.

(Note that entering '-1' in the second box gives the same result as entering the same number in both boxes. For example, to print POST 5, you can enter 5 in both boxes, or 5 in the first box and -1 in the second box. For more on this, and message selection in general, see the previous FAQ.)

Email & Private Messaging
When I click the email link for a user it asks me to log in.

Only registered users can send email to people via the in-site email form. This is to prevent malicious use of the email system by anonymous users.

I cannot send private messages!

There may be two reasons for this: you are not registered/logged in, or the Board Administrator has prevented you from sending messages due to complaints and/or abuse. You may contact the Board Administrator to request privileges be restored.

I keep getting unwanted private messages!

First, try sending the person a polite message requesting not to be contacted. If the problem continues, or you are uncomfortable sending the message, inform the Board Administrator -- they have the power to prevent a user from sending private messages at all.

I have received a spamming or abusive email from someone on this board!

Email the Board Administrator with a full copy of the message/email you received. Include all headers (these list details of the user that sent the email). The board will investigate, and the user's messaging privileges may be revoked or they may be banned completely from the site.

I sent my message, but it wasn't put in the Sentbox!

When you send a private message, it goes into your Outbox. It is moved to your Sentbox only when the other party reads it. (This lets you know if & when the other person reads your message.)

What's the difference between the Outbox and the Sentbox?

When you send a private message, it goes into your Outbox. When the other party reads it, it is moved to your Sentbox. This lets you know if & when the other person reads your message.

I got an 'delivery failed' error when I tried to send an email or private message!

First be sure you typed a valid username in the 'To' box. Try this method: click the Memberlist link atop any page, find the member you want to send to, then click the 'PM' (private message) or Email button next to their name. If you still get the error, it is probably due to a server error beyond our control. This is usually temporary; try again later. If the problem persists, email the Board Administrator.

Formatting and Images
What is BBCode?

BBCode lets you add special formatting to your posts, much like HTML: tags are enclosed in square braces [ and ] rather than < and >. You can also disable BBCode for any particular post by checking the appropriate item under the message box on the posting page. For detailed help on using it, read the BBCode guide.

Can I use HTML?

You can use basic HTML formatting tags, but others may be disabled. This is a safety feature to prevent people from abusing the board by using tags which may destroy the layout or cause other problems. You can disable HTML on a per post basis from the posting form.

What are Smileys/Emoticons?

Smileys are small graphical images which can be used to express some feeling using a short code; e.g. :) means happy, :( means sad. The full list of emoticons can be seen via the posting form. Note, too many smileys make messages hard to read, and may be edited or deleted by the moderator.

Can I post Images?

Yes, you can display images in your posts. However, you cannot upload images directly to the Forum; you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.some-website.com/my-picture.gif. You can also submit a picture to the gallery on our main site and link there once it is approved. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server), nor to images stored behind authentication mechanisms such as Hotmail or Yahoo mailboxes, password-protected sites, etc. To display the image use the BBCode [img] tag.
IMAGE GUIDELINES: No pornography; nudity is okay if it is tasteful and has educational value.

User Levels and Groups
What are Administrators?

Administrators are people assigned the highest level of control over the entire board. These people can control all facets of board operation which include setting permissions, banning users, creating usergroups or moderators, etc. They also have full moderator capabilities in all the Forums.

What are Moderators?

Moderators are individuals (or groups) who run one or more Forums from day to day. They have the power to edit or delete posts and lock, unlock, move, delete and split Topics in the Forum(s) they moderate. Generally moderators are there to prevent people going off-topic or posting abusive or offensive material. If you are think you are qualified and want to moderate a Forum, request to join the Moderator Team (via the Usergroups link atop any page), or contact the Board Moderator

What are Usergroups?

Usergroups are a way in which board administrators can group users. Each user can belong to several groups and each group may have access to different Forums. This makes it easy for administrators to let several users moderate a Forum, or give them access to a private Forum, etc.

How do I join a Usergroup?

Click the Usergroup link atop any page. Select the group that interests you for sign-up info. Not all groups have open memberships -- some are closed and some may even be hidden. If the group is open you can request to join it by clicking the appropriate button. The group moderator must approve your request; they may ask why you want to join the group, or for other information. Note not all requests are accepted.

How do I become a Group Moderator?

Usergroups are created by the Board Moderator, who assigns a group moderator. If you want to be a group moderator or create a new usergroup, contact the Board Moderator.

Why isn't 'X' feature available?

This software was written by and licensed through phpBB Group. If you believe a feature needs to be added then please visit the phpbb.com website and see what the phpBB Group has to say.
